MISSION ROCK
“In the real estate development equivalent of a perfect game, the Giants’ vision... won unanimous support at the Planning Commission on Thursday. But it wasn’t just the seven commissioners who heaped undiluted praise on the project... It was everyone... In a city where development politics is blood sport, the debate over the Giants’ Mission
Rock project was a game of patty-cake.”

PROJECT: 28 acre Master Plan
CLIENT: San Francisco Giants & Tishman Speyer
LOCATION: San Francisco, CA
Mission Rock is a project to redevelop the Giant's 28-acre ballpark parking lot into a complete, mixed-use neighborhood. The project aspires to achieve a number of San Francisco's 'firsts' -- as a net-zero carbon neighborhood, resilient to 6 feet of sea level rise, with significant levels of affordable housing, and an incubator for small local businesses.
Kristen led the development of the conceptual plan for the site, and was the primary author of the design guidelines that were adopted by the City. She worked closely with the Giants to coordinate with the many city agencies involved in reviewing, contributing, and approving the Master Plan and Development Agreement. She also participated in the crafting and campaigning for the project's ballot measure, which won 75% voter approval city-wide, and 95% approval within the Mission Bay neighborhood.
As Tishman Speyer teamed up with the Giants to develop the site, Kristen continues to work with the development team for visioning and implementation of each phase as the project continues to be built-out.
